The job: Family-owned and operated for over 30 years, the formerly named “skatin place” has been known for a long time as a popular skating rink in Cincinnati, Ohio. Now, with the addition of an entertainment area, the “skatin place” has become “The Place” Family Entertainment Center and has evolved into a family action center that offers countless activities for all ages in a fun, safe and healthy environment. Besides a café and several party rooms, the newly remodeled location is filled with attractions meant to keep the whole family in motion: ropes course, mini bowling, laser tag, bumper cars and an arcade area are just a few of The Place family entertainment center activities.

What we did: US Design Lab took an old-school skating rink and transformed it into a complete family entertainment center (FEC), adding 24,000 square feet of fun to the existing location. What was once just a skating rink is now “The Place” for entertainment that the whole family can enjoy! Added attractions include an arcade, state-of-the-art bumper cars, laser tag, party rooms, and even a ropes course! Additionally, our consulting, design and project management services included masterplanning, a new logo and marketing materials design, remodeling interior design and exterior signage, FEC design, general concept and interior layout rendering, and new website design.
